The Diooesan Svnol oonolaried its sifting, last nieht, the bill cnnsfttnting a Cathedral Ohapter of the Diocese nf W iann having been pns.od, the Bi.hop, in highly eulngi.tio terms, appointed R-v De Berdt Hovel! Dean Cathedral Chapter of Wniapu. The announcement was received wbh acclamation bv the whole Sy od, the BLhon remarking that tha apn’-nee greeted tha anpoin'ment was enftitrietT gnarantea fljft. his choice was annroved S-ve-al members of the Synod nxnrested their irrattfioation at tha appointment, and tendered oontratnlations to Dean Hovel!. A vote of eoneratulation was a’-o passed unanimously. D»an Hnvell briefly acknowledged the vote, and said it was his mnst earnest wish that by God's blessing he might he of greater service to the Diooese in future than he had heen in the past, and it would be his aim and endeavor to serve in hia new office as the humble minister of Jesus Christ, The Synod having deci led that there he four Canons and two lav members, the B'«hop nomi tated an! appointed, with the ronourre'-oe of the Synod, Archdeacon S. Wil Hams and Rev. J. E. Fox as Canons, and Mr J. Thornton as lay member, The Synod nommatod. and the B'Shon appointed, Archdeacon W. L. Williams and Rev, H. W. S. Hill as Canons, and Mr J. B, Fielder as lay member. The members having joined in the Gloria in Exoe'e's," the President pronounced the Benedjqtion, and the Synod adjourned.
