A Pitiable Occurrence.

The three year old daughter of Mr Cameron, contractor, lost her life last night through a fire which broke out during the absence of the mother, who left her in bed, asleep, at 7.30, whilst visiting a relative close by. The mother was only absent a few minutes and on returning found the bod in flames and the child nearly roasted, but the poor ti tle thing was still alive, and lingered two hours. Dr Milne attended, but could do nothing A baby in a cot in the same room was uninjured. The house, of four roms, was insured in tbe National for £lOO. The furniture and contents, all of which were destroyed, were uninsured.
Mr Cameron had £6O in money in the house, which means a loss of £2OO.
