FEDERAL VISIONS.
BUTTERING COLONIAL SQUATTERS.
London, November 17. At a meeting at Mansion House in support of the City of London bra'ich of the Federation League. Lord Rosebery said it was absurd to suggest introducing colonists to seats in the House of Lords, House of Commons, or Privy Council. He further expressed the opinion that it would be impossible in any federation scheme to include all federating states or colonies under one Customs Zollverien. Cardinal Manning, referring to the proposal to bold another conference of colonial delegates, eulogised tbe personnel of the first conference. The Press generally is favorable to the proposal.
