[ITANDAAD SPECIAL COXRXJrOXDZNr.) Names, last night. THE TAUPO ROAD. At a meeting of the County Council thia morning the question of the route of the road from Napier was decided, by tha adoption of Mr Kennedy’s report recommending No. 3 route. The voting was equal for and against, but the Chairman exercised his double vote ■nd so carried the motion. A HOSPITAL GRIEVANCE. At a meeting of the Hospital Trustees this afternoon it was resolved that the order of any duly qalifled medical practitioner shall admit a patient to the Hospital, but that the Surgeon -Snperintent shall be responsible for the treatment of all patients admitted, though any medical practitioner sending a case co the Hospital shall be entitled to consult with the SurgeonSuperintendent as to the treatment of such a case, and it shall be the practice wherever practicable to give notice to each practitioner of any intended operation in such case.

A long and exhaustive enquiry was held on Friday afternoon into complaints in connection with the Napier Hospital. Dr Innes (of Napier) alleged that there had been mistreatment of a patient sent to the Hospital, that a medical consultation of which he had received no notice had been held upon a patient, and also complaining of a regulation that forbade medical men entering the Hospital without permission. The latter complaint was stated to have been made in error. It was further decided that the case referred to had been properly and successfully treated by Dr Menzies, after consultation with Drs Hitchinge and Spencer, and that Dr Inosa* treatment had been altered. As to the complaint of notice not having been received by Dr Iqnes it was said to have bean received by his partner, Mr DeLisle. Of course Dr Innes may yet have something mon to say about the matter.
