COUNTY COUNCIL.

The above Council met yesterday afiernonn. Present: The Chairman, and Ore Orr, King, Murphy, Tuohy, Coleman, Wethered, and Stubbs.

The Ranger wrote offering to visit the Waikohu and Maraetaha roads in addiriou to his other duties.—lt waa agreed to allow him 5s per week extra for this work. On tha motion of Or King seconded by Cr Tuohy Messrs DeLautoar and Sievwright were appointed the Council's solioitore. It was decided to hold meetingain reference to the proposed Kaiteratahi bridge, at Ormond on Wednesday next, end at Waikohu on the following evening, tha poll to ba taken 14 days from the da'e of these meetings. Tha Chairman referred to the foreshore question. He said the County had a large interest in the foreshore, but he did not think the matter should now be discussed. The cost of opening the bridges would be vary small, and the question for them to decide wan whether they would endow the action of the Harbor Board or not.—Or Wethered proponed and Or King seconded a motion to tho effect that tha Council agree to the leasing of the foreshore to Messrs Common, Shelton, and 00. The motion waa carried, there being no seconder to an amendment by Or Tuohy that the Council do not interfere in the matter.
