SPORTING.
NAPIER PARK RACES. (special to the standahd.J Napier, last night. The rain which had been falling for the previous two days continued to-day, and the Napier Park racecourse was almost a sea of mud. Tha races were, however, got off, though naturally the jockeys presented a sorry spectacle, and several of the events were got off amidst pelting rain. The attendance waa about 500. The results were :—Trial Handicap of 60 snvs.—Argo 1, The Spy 2, Turaelsaitai 3 ; three othets started ; dividend, £7 6s. Winter Welter, of 40 sove.—Vision 1, Hukatere 2, Blue Mountain 3; the only other starter was Grace Darling ; dividend, £2 Ils. Napier Steeplechase, of 175 sovs.— Oeo 1, Sir Garnet 2, Auckland 3 ; two others started ; dividend, £lO 2s. Ladies' Bracelet, of 60 bovs. —Vision 1, Penguin 2, Hukatere 3; two others started ; dividend, £2 ss. Selling Hurdles, of GO sove.—Argo 1, Gazalte 2 ; only the two started; dividend, £1 7s. Hack Hurdles, cf HO sovs, —Darnley 1, Oddfellow 2, Raven 3; three others started: dividend, £4 9s. There was £1,425 put through the totalieator.
