Whataupoko Road Board.
The above Board met on Tuesday afternoon. Present: Messrs E. P. Joyce (Chairman), Daly. Sigley, and Williams. The Clerk reported that the Stout Street drains had been cleared, and that the Mangapapa work was proceeding well. It was ordered that notice be sent to , persons who are throwing refuse on the roads, that the practice must be discontinued, and that the present rubbish be cleared np. Mr Williams reported that the Hapara road to the freezing works was much cut up.—Ordered that the necessary repairs be done. Mr Sigley referred to the foreshore question, and moved that the Board endorse the action of the Borough Council in objecting to the lease, but the proposition lapsed for want of a seconder. Mr Daly said that Colonel Simeon was willing to pay one half the cost of forming and gravelling four chains of Hill Road. Mr F. Hicks would do the work at £7los.— It was resolved to accept the offer, and the w ork to be proceeded with at once. The following accounts were passed :— Hick* Jtl 7a > Bice, £2 15.)
