COLONIAL TELEGRAMS.

WELLINGTON. Last night. The Gisborne Harbor Bill is expected to come on again tomorrow, from the Public Accounts Committee. The labor crisis is alienating sympathy from the Unionists, and the chances of the Labor Bills are greatly lessened. A petition has been presented to the House from several Maoris residing at Murewai district, close to Gisborne, praying that the House be pleased to look into a grievance which they allege to have taken place through the action of Messrs Bees and Wi Pare in connection with the Pakowhui Block and other lands belonging to the petitioners, and situated at Murewui. NAPIER. Last night. A meeting to form a local branch of the Public Service Association was held at the Provincial Chamber on Monday evening. Mr Bamford, registrar of Deeds, occupied the chair. Not a few of those present are in receipt of salaries from £4OO to £5OO. They included Captain Preece, Messrs G. W. Williams (Commissioner of Crown Lands), S. J. Jago (Postmaster), G. Oliver (resident agent Government Insurance), A. V. MacDonald (Superintendent Railway Department), Pasley, F-tzroy, and others. Resolutions were passed affirming the desirableness of forming the proposed Association and a committee was appointed to carry out the object of the meeting. Thirty-one of those present signed a list of msmbership,- but though several postal and telegraph officers were present none would sign except the Postmaster.
