Gisborne Borough. Council v. Joyce.

THE COUNCIL GETS WORSTED. [SPECIAL TO THB STANDARD.] Auckland, last night. The appeal in the case ot J. Bourke (Town Clerk at Gisborne) v. E. P. Joyce was argued before Mr Justice Connolly this morning. The dispute was over £39 9s rates due on ths Masonic Hotel when Scott went bankrupt, judgment being given against Mr Joyce. His Honor reversed Mr Booth’s decision, and allowed the appellant seven guineas costs.
