Hospital Trustees.
An ordinary meeting of the Hcspita Trustees was held last night. Present Messrs C. A. Brown (iu the chair), Lucas Harris, Stubbs, Hepburn, Watson, and Coleman. The report thowed that 17 patients had been treated during the month, and there now remained four. With reference to Mrs Courtenay's case, it was resolved that the necessary proceedings be taken to enforce judgment. The Treasurer reported a credit balance of £258 7s. Accounts amounting to £55 10s 3d were passed for payment. Dr Pollen wrote informing the Trustees that he had disposed of his practice in Gisborne to Dr Johnston, formerly of Eielding— o thoroughly qualified and reliable gentleman, and he had also asked Dr Johnston to kindly undertake his Hospital duties, feeling sure that the Trustees would accept his services on the same uoderstandin g as they did Dr Barker’s. Dr Barker, he wrote, fully understood the situation and was leaving voluntarily. The Trustees approved of the action taken. Dr Johnton, who was in attendance, reported on the cases now under treatment. The Visiting Committee recommended several improvements to the mortuary. The matter was referred to the Visiting Committee for the ensuing month io attend to. The Committee appointed tor the ensuing month are Mtssrs Lucas and Nolan. Tenders for annual] Hospital supplies were ordered to be called and submitted st next meeting. It was also decidel to invite applications for ths position ot Medical Officer.
