It is stated that several alterations hast been made in the Gisborne representative team, but no official information has been supp'ied to us. At Christchurch two trial matches war* . down to be played, but only enough men for one turned up 1 Ths remainder wet* watch, the final for the Junior Cup. Th* game we* characterised by aueh rough play and disgraceful conduct that th* Weekly Preiasaya* few more each game* would utterly diaondit foothall in any civilised community. Mr Logan has made the following selection to represent Hawke’s Bay aealnet Gisborne :—Full-back, R, La Quean*; three—quarters, laku, Gage, and James; halvr*,Goldsmith, Friday, and Wi Duncan; foi» wards, Morrison, Beale, J. Rosa, Maicon, J, Fleming, Hiros, Robert Joseph, and G»' Fleming. Emergencies : three-quarters, WL haps and M'Rae; half, Wyvern, William*l forward, Wilson. The three-half gam* which was so suoosssful against Wallington is to ba tried again. This necessitates Swan being left out, and as it is possible that Wihspe may not be quite well by Thursday. James will have a trial in this match.
