Finding of a Body.
Aa the Mieses Palairet, Rennett, and Nora Crawford were riding along' the beach yesterday afternoon they were much shocked at discovering the body of a man, near the mouth of the Big Biver. From th" vague descriptions given there is not much doubt that it ia the -body of John Seers, who was drowned some weeks ago when crossing the river at Kaiteratahi. Constable Pardy and another officer drove out last night, but though they could smell something very unpleasant, diligent •eeroh failed to discover the body, in the dark, Tha officers returned about 10 o’clock, ottt *S* ,n daylight this morning, raq ueet will be held at 1 p. tn. to-worrow,
