Rowing Notes.

The Poverty Bay Rowing Club will soon Lave quite a young fleet of boats. Mr W. VV. Brown has presented the club with a sculling racer, four boats are on order in Wellington, aud two light gigs are being built locally by Mr Woods, of Auckland. Enquiries are being made in Auckland also with a view of purchasing a racing whale boat and dingy for use at the December regatta in Auckland. The club will probably send a crew there under lOst, in addition to their reps. There is a probability of a four-oared gig being placed at the disposal of the members engaged at the freezing works shortly. Mr Norton, boatbuilder of Wellington, is now employing an increased staff, and will shortly enlarge both this and his shed to accommodate his business. He has now on hand no fewer than twelve orders for boats from different parts of the colony, distributed as follows : -Two pair-oared outriggers for the Star Club, Wellington; racing in* rigger for the Poverty Bay Rowing Club, Gisborne ; two scullers and two pairs for the Gisborne Rowing Club; racing four-oared outrigger for the Nelson Rowing Club ; racing double sculler and pair for the Akaroa Boating Club; racing four for the Lyttelton Rowing Chib, and two racing scullers on private orders in Wellington.
