Death of a Young Man.
William H. Voake, aged fjl, died at the Hospital early on Sunday morning. He had been working for Mr Hickey, of Makauri, and left the house on Friday afternoon to drive in some cows. Subsequently he was discovered lying beneath a bueh, with his horse close at hand. He complained that he was not well, aud was helped to mount his horae, and went off. But later on he was found lying at the gate, apparently in an insensible condition. He was re* moved to the bouse, and as his condition did not .improve, Dr Innes was sent for. That gentleman at nnoe observed that the young man was suffering from brain fever, and ordered his removal to the Hospital. Every attention was then bestowed to the sufferer, but ice that was ordered to be applied could not be obtained. However, the case was hopeless, and the young man died without regaining consciousness A poet mortem examination wee held, and a certificate of death from brain fever waS given. The funeral leaves the Hospital at half past two o’clock this afternoon. A sister of the deceased has been temporarily residing in Gieborne, and in connection with the young man’a career there is au instance of sisterly devotion that redouads to the ghry of wemanhood,
