Liberal Association.
A PROMISING COMMENCEMENT. A meeting of electors interested. in the formation of a Liberal Association in Qisborne was held on Thursday evening*! in the Foresters’ Hall. There was a good repre« tentative attendance. The meeting was opened by Mr Bjrrell explaining the objects and the course that had already been taken in the way of framing ’rhlSs, etc. The proposed rules were. th en . presented and considered. After discussion, and a few slight alterations of the rules, they were unanimously adopted. It was decided to elect a few of the principal officers. Mr Sievwright was elected President, Mr Joyce a Vice- President, Mr Birrell Secretary, and Mr Sigley Treasurer, each gentleman being elected unanimously. A further meeting will be held on Friday next, when the other officers will be elected.
