Marvel has been a most disastrous horse for the general public, by reason of his scratchings and so on. Nevertheless, the crowd applauded his ignominious defeat of the mighty and straight-going Carbine. Marvel’s win should have been received with arctic silence.- The. win, however may never be repeated whilst Carbine remains sound in wind and limb.”
