THOUSANDS ARE LAID UP WITH IT. The influenza epidemic is now raging in a most alarming manner in some parts of England. In many of the leading cities thousands are confined to their beds through the infliction. In Rotheram district alone it is estimated that over five thousand people, old and young, ate laid up with the malady, and it is having a paralysing influence on some lines of business
