FOOTBALL.
A meeting was held in Mr John Berry's house, Tiniroto, for the purpose of forming a football club, on Saturday, 9th May, when pine were present, the other probable players being too far from the township to attend at the short notice given, Mr John Berry was appointed to the Chair, proposed by Mr G. Arundel, and seconded by Mr Hugh Whyte. Proposed by Mr H. E. Kent that a club be formed to play under Association rules, seconded by Mr Hugh Whyte. An amendment was proposed by Mr Geo. Arundel, and seconded by Mr Walter Whyte, that a football club be formed. The amendment was carried. The election of officers wag then proceeded with:—Proposed by Mr Walter Whyte, and seconded by Mr H. Biunle, that Mr Paterson be asked to act as President—carried; Vice-Presidents : Mr W. Boss, Mr D. Whyte, Mr Robt. Berry, and Mr J, Williamson. The question of electing a Captain was left to the players to select after one or two games have been played, thjs also to hold good m reference te electing a Vice-Captain, Proposed by Mr Jas. Berry, and seconded by Mr H. E. Kent, that Mr H. Binnie act as Secretary, An amendment, proposed by Mr G. Arundel, seconded by Mr Walter Whyte, that Mr G Kent act as secretary, Proposed by Mr J. Berry, and seconded by Mr H. Binnie, that Mr 11. E. Kent act as treasurer. Carried, dommittee ; Mr John Berry, Mr James Berry, Mr Hush Whyte. Mr Walter Whyte, Mr George Kent, Mr H. E. Kent, Mr G. Arffndel, and Mr H. Binnie, four to act as a quorum. Mr G. Arundel was chosen as chairman of the Committee. Proposed by Mr John Berry, and seconded by Mr H. Binnie, that the club be called the Tinirito Football Olub. Carried. Proposed and carried, that 5s be the annual subscription, with an extra call of 5s it necessary, to be paid by the 31st May, 1891; Intending members after that date to be ballotted for if necessary. A vote of thanks to Mr *ud Mrs (Jerry for the use of the room brought the meeting to' a Close.
