Befo r e the race the Inspector of Cruelty to Animals, at the instigation of some persons, examined Bit of Blue, and pronounced him in a fit state to rap°, it being asserted that a cut the horse had below the knee made him unfit to race. The Winter Welter Handicap fell to the outsider Orakei, whobeat Priscilla,lngorina and nine others. Dividends, £24 6s and £2117s 6d.

Begorrah won the Selling Steeplechase, Neck or Nothing the Maiden Steeplechase, and Priscilla the Ladies Bracelet.
