Ball in Aid of the Hospital.

The ball hold on Wednesday last in Sorry's Hall, Maksraka, in aid of the ahovp institu’ion proved a great success. There was a large attendance from town and country, and everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy the affair. The weather was all that could be desired, and the moon shining brightly, made the drive from tojyn a pleasant one. The floor was in capitalorder for dancing. A good supper was prepared, and groat credit is due to Mr W. Stephenson for his exertions to enhance the funds of the hospital. The most noticeable dresses worn during the evening were as follows:—Mrs Trafford, pret'y wedding dress of white silk ; Mrs Wright, pale pink; Mrs Stephenson black velvet and cardinal I Jl re Johnstone, black satin and laoe ; Mrs Baty, black satin and laoe; Mrs Masterson, pale blue i Mrs 0. McFarlins, cream laoe; Mrs W. HHarris, black and cardinal t Mrs Izard, pink and white i Mrs oteam aqd cardinal; Mrs Asilabie, black and white i Miss Mackie, white j Miss Madeline Campbell, pale blue ; Miss Wright, white ; Miss Johnstone, white; Miss Bionardson, fawn and blue; Miss I. Richardson, dark hlue i Mioses Caldwell, pink; Miss McFarllne, white laoe; Miss Caldwell, white ; Misses Groen (3), white ; Miss Felix, salmon Besides those mentioned several other ladies, whose names we have been unable to obtain, looked well.
