Thb popular Mr Lohr is now in Gisborne, malting arrangements for the approaching visit of Williamson’s Juvenile Comic Opera Company, which has been playing to crowded houses in the South. The season opens in Gisborne with Audran's well known comic work La Mascotte. The Poet states that the Company make the opera go with a swing, a life, and a vigor that are positively infectious, and the most phlegmatio among the audience must have felt in some degree the hilarity which the clever youngsters infused into their spirited representation—indeed the Post states that no better perfon mance of La Mascotte was ever seen in the Empire City. The plays to be produced by the Company are of a class that will be specially popular with Gisborne audiences, which are always pleased with plays that have a cheering and inspiriting effect. The role of La Mascotte is taken by Miss Lily Everett, a young lady whose graceful acting ia said to be of such a high character as many of her seniors cannot attain to.
