The Nanking Government’s plans for overcoming the rebellion of Feng Yu-hsiang and Yen Hsi-shan have been eventually made known as a result of an agreement reached with General Chang Hsue-liang, the Mukden war lord, by which, it is reported, Nanking agrees to furnish Chang with 1,500,000 dollars a month and unlimited supplies of arms and ammunition provided the Fengtien forces undertake to attack Ven Hsi-shan in the rear. Until now Chang's attitude in the present conflict proved a stumbling block, both sides seeking Mukden’s support. Now the atmosphere has cleared. Chang agreeing to despatch three divisions against Pekin while Chiang Kai-shek proceeds to Hsuchow to make a frontal attack.
