LADIES’ ASSOCIATION. FIRST CONFERENCE HELD. LPer Preaa Association.! Wellington, Aug. 9. 'l'ho first conference of delegates to the New Zealand Ladies’ Hockey Association opened to-day. It was decided that the meeting be looked upon as a representative meeting of the council of the association. The opinion was expressed in a motion which was carried unanimously that North Island and South Island tournaments should be held each year, the winner of each to play off for the championship alternately in the North Island and South Island. The following motion is to be brought down at the annual general meeting of the N.Z.1.H.A.: — “That all players throughout New Zealand shall be levied at the rate of threepence a person, the money to be quite separate from affiliation fee, to be forwarded to the N.Z.L.H.A. and to be paid into its general fund.” A motion that “womens’ ” be substituted for “men’ ” in the title, is to bo forwarded to the rules committee. It was decided to set up a committee to revise the association rules, and also that representative teams be accompanied by a woman manager and tho selector as coach when available.
