TE WHITT'S ADDRESS.

, « The following is the full test of Te Wbiti's address to the Natives as telegraphed by the special correspondent of the Lyttellon Times :—•' Te "Wliiii, after a few preliminary remarks of no import tance, said, tilings that are planted can't be disturbed until they are ripe; there is only one to direct everything on this earth; to direct the judges-, the con-troller.-The directors of the people in power are titiau (that is, to run on one side of, say a boat, and throw it out of its balance— -Te Whiti evidently meant those who are influencing their side), and must bow to me. Things are on the tip of ray tongue on this day, but the conclusion is with the Master of the World. (Ariki ote ao.) One power has been set upon the earth this day, and if the lifters up of guns are anxious to raise them, they can't do so. Go where you will on earth, there is someone before you. There is only One to rule things on this earth, only one. Old things have been swept away, and new things are about to come to pass, TLe former mode of judging and directing the things of this earth has been done away with. The seed of Te White is spreading. I am telling you this that you may know and not be led bliudly by the Government. Things have so blinded us, that we could scarcely move, but hnd men will not be allowed to carry out their works 5 the Master will not allow the doings of great and wicked men to be accomplished by evil. What lam speaking to you now is not what it is said to be, but, in vhorr, J am telling everything to your faces, so that you may know the doings of Ibis genera! ion. The wise men are as though : they were drunk 5 the soldiers and their

mins will not go off; the Master of the World has said so ; surveyors the Master will not allow you to complete all works, great or small. They can't be accomplished, the Master has so ordered. We are approaching the end of the day. This should not make us afraio. Be o! food heart P These things were all pro» uhesied, and it was said before the coming of the Master, troubles should arise The other year these things were tod yon here (Pariljaka), and I said you sboa'd see and hear for yourselves that I am the true one, and it would be good for this word to glisten in the eyes of men. Thp Government has thousands to his only one, but this does not make him afraid ; all these things were foretold. It was not said before that this day ('he present time) would bring trouble. The Master of the wo Id would settle everything. This day troublp, war, an(? everything will meet the Master's wit', which wiil submerge everything. Bitterness of ( heart with everything will be completed by him. The workers of the world (meaning himself and Tohu) are not known this day, but things that were prophesied are about to come to pass. What if the Government takes the land? What thenp Who shall fight P The Master has taken the world this day. The Natives who have gone over to the Government will boT down to him (f.he Mas'ei). The Taubi strangers (pakehas) have everything this day*— land and peos pie ; bat at the last everything shall be yours. It rests with me to disturb the earth; wilh me, also, to quieten things. If brass, silver, iron, and clay are joined togei her they can't bold ; they are like the Natives who have joined the Government—iron j >ined fo clay. The rain comes, and if 'he sun then shines it falls fo pieces, so also will the Natives f»l! from the Government. lam telling you Ihese things openly, so that you may all hear: not like the Government who keep everything to themselves. lam speaking to Europeans and Mnorif, so that you miy a'l hear of everything tliat has been donp this day. Taking the land anrl sur» vpying has to be finished by the Maker. The Government have nothing but their guns this day, but they do rot know where they (the guns) will reach, but the morning and the evening will replace the people on the land this day. It will not be parried out as the Government wish Tohu says the Government have a thousand, he only one ; the thousand hive guns, the one nothing. We can only look on and laugh. This is' the year you were told of on the formeslß'h ; the year in which all would be clear. I would not hide anything, and go to my loving (bosom) friend and confidence him, but I spenk to everyb i dy openly so as everyone may hear the hiahia (yearning) of mon ot wisdom, men of war. AH will not be accomplished although Tohu says the Government have a thousand and be only one, and the thousand wish to lift up the guns. No evil will be allowed by the Maker. Even though the bayonets of the soldiers blind your eyes with their brightness, do not fl'nch. The surveyors who wish to survey the lind rannot do so without the consent of the Master. I have not much to say this day. Every thing is going on the straight road, and in the one direction. If it were to branch off or turn aside then I would speak.'
