*— From a report received by the last mail, issued by tbe Central Conamitfep m Gr'aseow for raising and districting funds for tbe relief of the shareholders oP tlie City of Glasgow Bank wbo were ruined by the disastrous bankruptcy of that institution, detailing th» operations of the Committee up to the 314 December. 1879, it appears that the total amount of subscriptions initiated np fothat date from all sources was £389.428, of which flip amount paid was £262 230, leaving £127 197. which consists of portions £ suras originally subscribed by in«tal« merits, and to b<* paid hereafter. A perns*! of the report shows that great care and circumspection are beine exercised in the distribution of the funds.
