Wellington, August 30. An amendment was made to the Financial Arrangements Act. by message from the Governor, to the effect 'hat the 20 per cent, of the land fund should be payable to local bodies to Ist August, 1880, instead of Ist April, 1830, as originally proposed. Mr Hall said this alteration was made in accordance with what he understood was the general desire of members of the House. The amendment was agreed to. The House, numbering fifteen mem* bers, then proceeded to the Upper House, and the Commissioners, Sir W. Fiizherbert, Hods. John John* ! aton, G.M. Waterbouse, F Whitaker, and Colonel Whitmore, baying had their commissions read, declared the Parliament to be prorogued until Wednesday, the Ist day of December next. Auckland. August 30.
