From Under* Sewetorj ..Public Works, Hating that iecond progress payment for lite Longford road would be forwarded. From Colonial Treasury forwarding the amount of progress mo&ef for Long* ford road. From D. H. Alexander, statins that Mr Gardner gt.*ehim no instructions to employ Coghlan. . From County Chairman, Grey mouth, agreeiug to take over tbe bridge at Big Grey, on condition that the Linngahua County pay one«balf towards maiuten* an«£. On th# motion of Mr Duties, seconded Hy Mr Byrne, this proposal was agreed to. From M. G. Green and others, asking Council to construct a dray track up the Lefuhand Branch of the Inangaliua. Matter ordered to stand over for Ena gineer'o report. Resolved that the co-operation of (bis Council be given as requested. From Mr Blnckett, stating that the Goverumeut will not expend any money out of tbe Nelson, Westport, and Grey road vote for repairing or maintaining bridges or culvert*. The Chairman was requested to com* munioaie with ♦ha Minister or 1 Public Works on the matter. From George Moonlight, n bis account for clearing logs off the road. From John .Harris, drawing attention to the bad state of repaid of the track at the head of Murray Creek. Tbe report of the Committee appointed to inspect the Bis river track wa.g then read, le-eived, and considered. Proposed by Mr Gallagher, wcotjded by Me Williams, and cafried, that l.tlfgi Chairman, with Councillors levies, treßn nery, and Byrne, with power (o add to i be|r| number, be appointed en Executive Committee to deal with matters requiring argent attention during the intervals between tb^ ordinary meetings of the Council. Moved by Mr GnUagber, seconded by Mr William*, and carried, that Mr Joseph Gibbs of Longford, be informed that if he apply to the Licensing Bench for an ac* com modation license, the Council will see that it does not cost him more than £5 per year. Proposed by Mr Gallagher, seconded by Mr Williams, and carried, that a committee, consisting of Messrs Danes, Trennery, end tbe Chairman be appointed to entertain the surveyors sent out by the Cbristchiurch Ttiilway Committee. Proposed by the Chairman, seconded by Mr Davies, and carried, that tenders for printing and advertising be caHed for the year ending 31st December, 1881. Specifications to te prepared by the Clerk. TeaJers to close on the 3rd Jan* vary, 18S1, at 12 noon. The tenders for Devil's Creek bridge, were referred to tbe Tender Committee to deal with. The accounts amounting to £457 2s Sd were then presented. Resolved that Mr Monagban's account be reduced to £5 6s. Proposed by Mr Trennery, seconded by Mr Gallagher, and carried, that the accounts as read and corrected- be passed for payment. Meeting lapsed at 6.45 p.m.
