The winze is now down between 50 and 60 feet, and continues to follow a well-defined lode containing a very fair percentage of gold say, about 2 *z-» per ton. The sinking so far has resulted in about 50 tons of stone to the surface, which is being increased daily. The level eoin^ north is now in a distance of TO feet from the chamber, and small spurs and leader* containing gold are seldom nVnpnt froni the face, but as yet the lode has not formed solid nor regular, but a* the level is progressing this may bo expected to occur at any time.
