NILDESPERANDUM.(TRIBUTE.)

Crushing is being continued at the Keep-it-Dark mill with ten head of stampers, and an interim scraping of the top plates realised 102|oz of amalgam for 100 hours' operations. About 80 tons passed through the mill and the result is smaller than anticipated, but this attributed to some poor stono having been taken out during three days towards the north end of the block, where the already large lode is widening, and also to the act that more quicksilver is now used in the boxes, and it is presumed that a greater quantity of gold is retained there in consequence. Towards the latter end of the week the stono again resumed a better appearance, and the general aver** age at least appears certain.
