LARRY'S CREEK.
CALEDONIAN EXTENDED. The winding and pumping gear, which has been in constant use for a consider* able time, was found to require attention, as tbe timbers composing the greatest part of tbe plant were showing signs of decay. This was particularly noticeable about the flaming leading to the wheel, and the scaffolding upon which tbe flam* ing rested, and as this part of the structure had occasionally to be ascended to regulate tbe flow of water, it became dangerous to trust to it any longer, and it was decided to cause the whole to be renewed and repaired as occasion re* quired. With this view— sawyers, and carpenters, have daring tbe last few weeks been engaged in tbe work, and it is now finished in a creditable and durable manner. A blacksmith has overhauled and renovated the ironwork and has made a good job of it, so that the whole wind* ing and pumping machinery may now be considered in firs t« class order and as good as new.
