HOSPITAL COMMITTEE.

A meeting of tbe Hospital Committee was held at the Council Chambers, on Wednesday, the 6 h July, 1881. Present : Messrs Wise, Lee, Aiken, Cohen, and Crate. Mr Aiken was voted to the chair. The minutes of the last meeting were read nnd confirmed. The secretary read letters from Mr Rae, re entertainment in aid of the Hospital funds, stating tbat he was obliged to withdraw from participating in it, as other arrangements preven'ed him from assisting. A letter was read from the Wealth of N-ations Company declining to -wmim bote, on tbe grounds that the company was a call-making one, and that it would not be just to shareholders. The Medical Officer's reports for May and June were read and received. Appended to each was a foot-note calling attention to the state of tbe roof on tbe old ward and kitchen, and otber necessary repairs, which ought to be immediately effected. Tbe following accounts were presented for r-avment • —
