The Directors of 'Johnson's United Company ' haye hnd an exhaustive survey made and numerous levels taken hy Mr Rochfort, C.E., and bxve deter<n : ned in acting on Mr I? or h Tort's advice to pul in a tunnel from Kelly's Creek, and Tenders are now railed to Hiivo 400 ft, when the Quir z Reefs should be first met with, this drive will also thoroughly drain the ground. Just outside of the Sou' hern Boundary there is an outcrop of Silver Ore, dipping towards the Company's ground ; this bas not been worked, alfhon^ti specimens as* sayed gave a yield of over lOOoz* per lon of ore. Assay returns of Galena have given 70oz* of Lead w<'th 30oz< of Silver. Yellow Sulphide of Copper 6ft in wid<b and driven on for 30ft w;<s found in (he ' Perseve ante Company's ' ground ; this yielded about 30 per cent of meial, and was accompanied by highly payable Gold, apart from the koowo rich gold bearing quartz. The Mine is an exceptionally good properly ; Ihe failure of former Com* panics is tncenble to a very great extent io the want of experienced control over (hose working in Ihe M>'ae, aud proper economy in working expenses. In inviting ihe Public io lake Shares, tbe Direc'ors assure intending investors that no exorbitant tutldy wiil be made in cost of getting these Shares taken up, present holders are fully determined io prosecute wo r k, and, as a guarantee of good faith, have, by resola'ion duly re* corded, agreed to wilbhold dealing with their Shares for at least two irootlis. Many of the old workings, particularly the inclined ehalt. will prove of value in the re- opening of ihe Mine. Applications lor Shares mu*t be ac« companied ly a deposit of Is per Share, and a further payment of Is per Share will be required on allotment, and the balance of Is per fbare three monihs of.erdaleof allotment, or a discount of 2|d will be allowed to any person m?k« ing full payment of (he 3s per Share on application ; the whole of ibe proceeds Ircm the' sale of these Shares will be expended in developing tbe Mine. Applications for Shares will not be received alter the 25th August, and ow* ing to the very low price asked, as against the known value of ibe properly, the Directors reserve to themselves the right of closing list of Subscribers prior to (he 25th August.
