LOW LEVEL TUNNEL.
The present contractors, Messrs Hanlon and party, are encountering; a great body of water in the tunnel which does not seem to abate, bat keeps coming in at the face as the driving is advancing. The country now being pierced is welldefined and regular slate rock, which requires shooting every inch of it. Since tbe commencement of the existing con* traot an advance of 40 feet has been made.
