The crushing which was commenced about a fortnight since, was completed during the latter part of this week, whrn the satisfactory return of 191 zs o{ re« torted gold was obtained out of 130 tons treated. After all expenses are paid for rising and crushing this lot a handsome balance of about £500, will remain to the credit of the company. This stone was taken from a block, below the low level, and abutting on to the winze which cuts the reef to v depth of 350 feet. Instruction from directors as to farther proceedings arc not to hand yet, but ie is probable that attention will be directed to some stone left over* head in the level under notice, while the contractors complete the vertical shaft to the required depth, viz,, 97 feet of which is now sunk.
