GOLDEN TREASURE.
The usual amount of progress has not been made in Ibis mine daring the week, owmg to the interruptions to work which hare taken place daring the last few days in consequence of foul air. This is now being remedied by means of air pipes, which are being placed in such position as to ensure ventilation until such time as the connection between the winae towards which a drive is now being constructed. The stone crushed appears of the average quality, but as only 30 tons were milled no scraping of top plates was made. It was intended to repair the masonry work about the boiler this week, but it will new be allowed to stand over until the present crushing is finished, after which the boiler will be entirely re^set with differently constructed flues, whereby a considerable saving of fuel will be effected. No apparent change is noticed in the main tunnel. Contractors will probably complete tbeir distance in eight or ten days.
