GOLDEN TREASURE. The sinking of the winze from the main level has been resumed since last report— l 6 feet has already been added to the original 85 feet, which was done a few months back. It is intended to continue downwards as far as the present appliances will conveniently permit, per. haps the existing depth will be doubled. The winae has followed some very good gold-bearing stone from tbe commencement, and this still continues with a width of 5 to 6 feet. The contractors for exa tending main level are within 11 feet of their finishing point j a sort of a broken leader with some gold has beetf followed for some time, but no change has yet oca curred for any better defined country. Since the fixing ef air pipes the ventilation is good, and io addition to extending the bottom level south, stoping out has been carried on in the block with fair success. Sixty <«Bix ounces three pennyweights of retorted gold was sent to the bank for tbe fortnight, making the total for the month U7oa .. Crushing will be resumed on Wednesday, after some repairs will have been made to tbe brickwork and masonry around the toiler.
