[from our own correspondent.] Pabis, November 10. la the Chamber of Deputies last night, the vote of censure proposed on the Ferry Government for its policy in Tunis was- rejected by a substantial majority, and a resolution was further adopted at the instance of M- Gambetta that France should loyally abide by the treaty concluded with the Bey of Tunis. Later. Ferry, President of the Council of Minis* ters to-day tendered his resignation. and that bf his colleagues to* President Grevy, and M. Gambetta has since teen summoned to form a new Ministry. London, November 9. At the annual banquet given by the Lord Mayor at Guildhall to-day, the Bight Hon. W. E. Gladstone made a speech, in which ho referred at length to the position of affairs in Ireland. He Btated that the Irish tenants were fully utilising the benefits sought to be provided by the Land Act, and the situation in Ireland had naturally improved. Mr Gladstone further said that one of the earliest measures next session would be a bill for the reform of the procedure of Parliament. Such reform, he stated, w»9 urgently necessary, and he asked the assistance of all political parties in bringing same into effect. The cargo of frozen meat brought by Messrs R. M. Gloinan and Co. 'a steamship Catania arrived in excellent condition, and was submitted at auction at Smitbfield Market to-day. No demand wns, however, experienced, and the meat realised an average of only 3d to 4d per pound all round. Brisbane, November 12. News is to hand that a boat contaning two sailors who had been speared has been found on the Cairncrosß Island, off the northern coast of Queensland. It is believed that the boat was attacked and its occupants mur. dered by natives.
