GOLDEN TREASURE.
The vriDZe is now down 152 ft altogether, and the sinking will be continued until the end of next week. In order lo preserve a uniform incline in the winza bo as to facilitate hauling, the reef, for thr last 30ft, has beca left on one Bide, and consequently has not been broken into, except where it has occasionally come into view during the progress of the work, and at these points tbe stone is shown to be payable. The sizo of the lode in the south stope? has lessened, and only a small quantity of stone has been brought to tbe mill, »nd this of rather inferior quality ; but as soon as the bottom of tbe winze is reached and the reef opened out there a larger supply of better stone is expected. Tbe main level is still being extended, but the track of the reef, which was followed for a consider* able distance, is at present out of sight, and it is probable that some cross-cutting will be undertaken shortly.
