A general cleaning up was made al this company's battery after a crushing of 120 toes, obtainedVholly during tbt process of cutting through the recently found large body of reef at the low level, supplemented by stone which it was necessary to take out while timbering the ground and preparing for raising tc the next level. The stone was milled it one lot and yielded the very satisfactory result of 104)ZS 15dwt of gold. Th< average could easily have been brought up to an ounce per ton bad tbe plate; been closed scraped, which wa9 unneees' sary as crushing was again to be resumed tbe following day. The uprise has been commenced and about 9 feet is made, anc the whole work Will probably be completed during the month, so that with th< new year a new era will set in, which promises to be tbe most prosperous jet experienced by this company.
