MURRAY CREEK.

(FBOM OURjKINING} reporter.) GOLDEN FLfti.CE EXTI?NM!S7~ Saturday, December 10. It will be remembered that since general operations in the mine were discontinued some three months since only a limited number of men have been employed, pending tbe arrival of the drilling and rock-boring apparatus, which is now under contract uf construction in Victoria. The operations in the meantime have mainly been confined to pros^pecting in the low or No. 6 level, where the track of the reef showed itself at the bottom of the winze. This has been followed northwards, a_d at about 60 feet from the Fleece winze, the first stone made its appearance •« ith very fair prospects, This bas now been followed for over 30 feet witb a gradual improvement in dimensions and quality of tbe lode, which now is fully 3 feet wide, presents ing general appearances, similar to those previously noticed in the best parts of the mine, and is extending in a direction about oue point to the east of north, which is also the general course of tbe previously worked good stone in the upper levels of the Fleece block. The striking of the reef at this depth, wbicb is nearly 800 feet below tbe surface outcrop, has in .conjunction with other re« cent low level discoveries, materially strengthened confidence in tbe permanency of the whole field, wbicb can now be considered as fully assured.
