The lode appears of the same width, nature, and quality tbroughout, but seems now to flatten out to a greater underlie than at first. A cottage bas been erected near the workings to be used as an office and for the general convenience of manager or directors who frequently visit tbe mine. Tbe contract for the construction of the water race is progressing but slowly owing to some hitch in tbe levels. The contractors for the extension of the main level have again resumed work at an increased price per foot, which the company conceded in consequence of the ground hardening. Payable stone has been found near the surface about 80 feet from the present workings, and it is intended to trench the ground in tbe vicinity for further developments.
