DEVIL'S CREEK.
GOLDEN POINT. The depth reached in the winze now is 74 feet, and the lode, which for about 15 feet was left on one side owing to its then flatness, has again straightened back to its original position, and is being cut out as the sinking progresses. The stone itself is fully equal to the general run throughout the reef with every prospect of continuance. The excellent stone which has already been reported as discovered on the surface about 20 feet south west from present workings has been followed and bared for a short distance, and discloses a new lode of 2 feet in thickness. It is the intention next week to continue following up this discovery, which is the fourth or fifth separate and distinct reef within the boundaries of the ground held by the company, each and all of which are gold-bearing to a highly payable degree. The company have now made definite arrangements with the Dispatch Foundry Company, Greymouth, for a 10---head battery, which will be placed on the ground as noon as circumstances permit.
