RAINY CREEK.
Rainy Creek.
| The property known under this heading, of which Mr Hugh Graham has lately been the sole proprietor, has changed hands during the week. Finding that the speedy development of the mine was beyond the resources of a single individual, Mr Graham placed the mine in the market on Thursday. The shares were taken up with great avidity, and at night the list was closed — 16,000 shares having been subscribed for in Reefton at 3s 6d, and 8,000 in Dunedin, making a total of 24,000 shares into which the new company is to be divided. A provisional directory consisting of Messrs Kilgour, Masters, Aiken, and Stevenson, of this town with. Mr W. Roberts, of Dunedin,' w%„' appointed last night, and it was arranged that Messrs Kilgour and Masters were to proceed to the ground on Monday, for the purpose of inspecting the mine and to report to a meeting of shareholders in the evening, when the future operations will be decided on. The property comprises a mining leasehold to the extent of 33 acres, with a 15-head battery, and is considered a cheap acquisition at the prices quoted.
