-♦ (from our own correspondent.^ London, January 30. Further withdrawals of gold amounting to a million sterling have been made from the Bank of England to meet the French demands. A cargo of frozen meat by the Cuzco has been examined, and found in excellent condition. Cairo, January 30. Serious rioting has taken place at Tantish, a town in the delta of the Mle, between the European and Egyptian residents, the latter being the aggressors. The disturbance lasted for some time, but order has since been restored. Paris, January 30. In the French Senate last night, M. Freycinct, the new Premier, explained the programme of the Government, and stated that its chief object would be to maintain peace both at Home and abroad, and to provide for the fullest liberties of ts subjects. The question of the reform of the constitution would be postponed until the expiration of the present Senate and after completion of necessary judicial and military reforms. The Government would continue the Education policy initiated by M. Ferry when last in office. It was not intended to purchase railways in France. An effort would be made to solve the tariff question with England, with a view to a conclusion of a fresh Commercial Treaty. Adelaide, February 2. A fresh case of small-pox has developed itself among the Garonne's passengers in quarantine, and pratique has consequently been further deferred.
