GOLDEN TREASURE.
A partial cleaning of top plates was made this morning, when 26(iozs. of amalgam was taken oft' top plates. This had accumulated during ten days crushing, in which time 83 tons bad undergone the V.*3ual process, operations being confined
to twelve hours per day. The present return, together with the show of excellent stono now in the faces, would denote a general result for this months' crushing, greatly in excess of previous averages. Very little has been done towards ex--1 tending the levels during the week, work having been confined mainly to the two stopes, the manning of which having absorbed all the available hands at the expense of other necessary works, which will have to abide the engagement of a few good men, which at. present are not procurable, owing to the increasing demand for experienced quartz miners in the field.
