MURRAY CREEEK.
[From our Mining Reporter.] NIL DESPERANDUM. Saturday, February 18. The winze, the situation of which was fully described in last report, is now sunk twelve feet, and the reef is found to be over six feet in thickness. The quartz appears of a quality never yet brought up from this mine. It is greatly composed of pyrites and sulphides, which run through the atone in streaUs. Gold is also pf&n&y to~Ts§ SeeiTin every part of the lode. The general opinion of those conversant with the former yields from this mine, and the appearance of the stone from the respective places, is in favour of the stone now under notice being far superior to any yet worked here. After some repairs to the ladders have been completed, it is intended to open out south in the bottom or No. 5 level. This portion of the mine has never been prospected before.
