CHRISTCHURCH EXHIBITION.

« The opening ceremony will take place as previously announced on Easter Monday. The gates will be thrown open at 6-30 a. in., and closed at 10 25 am., the charge for admission to all but invited guests and holders of season tickets being ss. The following will be the programme. — His Excellency the Governor will be received at 10.30 a.m at the gates by the Mayor and City Council of Christchurch, the members of the committee of judgment and awards, together with the promoters, by whom he will be led up to the dais, the bands playing God Save the Queen. The most Rev. the Primate having read an inauguration prayer, the artillery band will play the Exhibition March, specially composed for the occasion by their leader, Mr Hamilton. The promoters Mill then present an address to His Excellency, setting forth the objects of the Exhibition, after replying to which he will declare the Exhibition open. The cantata (Mendelsshon's Lobgesang) will then be sung by the Christchurch Musical Society, under the leadership of Mr H. Wells, and accompanied by the Australian Band, under Herr Braun. His Excellency will then visit the various courts of the Exhi» bition. At the entrance to each court he will be received by the exhibitors, who will be presented to him by the promoters. At 12,30 the public will be admitted at the fixed rate, which will be maintained throughout, viz.' one shilling.
