MINISTERIAL CRISIS.

SIR GEORGE GREY SENT FOR. Auckland, April 11, Sir George Gray has been sent for by the Governor and arrived in Aucklast night. He proceeds to Wellington by the Wanaka at 1 p.m. this day. The steamer Rose Casey left yesterday morning for Waiwera with a number of excursionists. After landing them she proceeded to Kawau with x r Furby, the officer in charge of the Auckland Telegraph Department, conveying important missions for Sir George. Immediately on receipt of these Sir George Grey embarked ou the steamer for Auckland. Sir George appears to be in good health. Endeavours were made by the Telegraph Department to charter a steamer on Sunday to proceed to Kawau, but I the astute skippers sniffing important Government business raised terms to such an extent thatiiegotiations fell through. Mr Furby therefore availed himself of the excursion trip of the Rose Casey to Waiwera, and thus accomplishedjhis mission. Sir George Grey has been sent for by his Excellency, who asks him to proceed to Wellington at once ; beyond that Sir George is not aware of anything which tho public does not know. The Hon. John Hall in sending in his resignation did not accompany it with any advice, and the Hon. Walter Johnston, who was tho bearer of the communication, could not offer any on behalf of the Premier. Wellington, April 11. To-night the Evening Post says it has strong gronuds for disbelieving the latter statement. The Governor left Christchurch for Wellington to-day. CniusTCHURCH, April 11, The Exhibition was opened yesterday by the Governor with great eclate, 10,000 persons attended the ceremony, and 24,000 risited the Exhibition during yesterday. 7,000 visited the city from country districts by train.
