(from our own correspondent.} London, April 11. The health of Prince Leopold is improving, and the marriage of his Royal Highness with Princess Helena of Waldeck, takes place on the 27th instant. Major-General Jervoise, the Governor of South Australia, retires from active military service with the rank of Lieutenant-General. Vienna, April 12. Great satisfaction is expressed at the announcement of Prince Gortschakoff retiring from active political life. He will be succeeded by M. De Giers. Berlin, April 12. The appointment of M. De Giers as Russian Minister for Foreign Affairs, has been the cause of much rejoicing. Madrid, April 11. The state of siege which was declared in the province of Catalonia on 31st. instant, on account of taxation rights, has now been raised. Hong Kong, April 12. A rumor was current here to-day that the United States screw frigate, Richmond, 13 guns, has been totally lost with her crew of 800 oflieers and
men. The report requires confirmation. Sydney, April 12.
