♦ (prom our own correspondents.) Wellington, April 12. What actually took place in regard to the Premier advising the Governor to send for Grey was as follows : — The Hon. Mr Johnston, in handing in the : ' resignations of Ministry to the Go^erawt informed His Excellency that he was also the bearer of a communicaiton from the Premier giving his advice as to who should be TBent for. His Excellency at once declined to receive any such communication, remarking that it was not usual under such circumstances for a Governor to receive advice of the kind. Consequently the advice was not officially given or received, although Mr Johnston wee quite ready with it. April 13. The Governor had an interview with his late Minisisters to-day, but what took place has not transpired. New Plymouth, April 13. Mr Halse, of the firm of Halse and Roy, solicitors, was found dead in his bed this morning. He had called a meeting of his creditors for to-mor-row. Auckland, April 13. Sir Geo. Grey has had a lengthy interview with several Auckland members. The relative strength of parties has been discussed, and the number of supporters he would have, should he form a Ministry. Christchurch, £pril 12. The Hiremoa, with the Governor, left for Wellington at one o'clock this afternoon. Mr Ballance has definitely decided to stand for Stanmore. Four thousand persons visited the Exhibition yesterday. The exhibits have been divided into 21 classes for the purpose of judging, and three jurors will be appointed in most of them, but in one or two cases five will be chosen. The jurors are to be selected partly by the Exhibitors and partly by the committee of judging and awards. The jurors to be chosen by the exhibitors will be chosen at 9-30 a.m. on Monday.
